WHAT CHARLENE DID NEXT, SOMEONE GOT SKILLS!

A film for NZ Book Council.
Produced by Colenso BBDO
Animated by Andersen M Studio

A new illustrator called Julia Pott that I found just randomly on YOUTUBE,
this is one of the animation that she did,
I absolutely loved it on the first sight!

WHAT CHARLENE DID NEXT,
SHE FOUND 'THINGS' FOR AUTHOR!

For this new unit, we are going to create our own world.
Here is some research for my first project:

This is a stylist/ photography called Klee that I found from etsy.
She does amazing photograph with her collections,
and made them into postcard. which you can buy on etsy.

I saw these while I was in Berlin, and I actually bought the BAD HABITS one myself,
then now I found the website for it, its really cool!

 From: Indian book depot

Oh My God! This is amazing!
This tea bag is designed by Nathalia Ponomareva.
' These tea bags created by the principles of origami. While the tea infuses the bird or the shape is gradually expanding. This is very poetic. I do not know if it is commercially produced, but the idea is wonderful.

WHAT CHARLENE DID NEXT,
OBJECT 3

Basically we have to create a Narrative sequence from the original source from object 1.
I selected the part when brooks was moving to Birmingham, what happened to him..
I started from how he used the £20, what sort of things he spent it on...
then i was tying to make a story about a circus bear but it never worked out...
Here are all my research + ideas and Finals.

WHAT CHARLENE DID NEXT,

Here is someone that is amazing at my weakness..
I wish I could have 1/100000 of his talent..
Lots of work needs to be done!

WHAT CHARLENE DID NEXT,
OBJECT 1

For object 1 we have to pick a chair and do 60 drawings based on differnt research.
There are 6 differnt questions, for each question we have to do 10 drawings for it.

At first I wasn't very sure what sort of chair I should choose,
so I narrow it down it 3 differnt chairs.
Then I picked the bike seat as my final choice.
Here are some of my research about the first bike in the world.
Because there aren't very much information about the seat for the first bike,
so I moved on to something more specific - The Brooks saddle.
The first 10 drawings:

WHEN IT WAS MADE?
Therse 10 images are basically different ways of transport at that period of time apart from using bicycle.

1. Curricle
2. Barouche
3. Buggy
4. Gig
5. Carridge
 6. 1st Railway in the UK
7. 1st steamship
8. 1st car
9. Horse riding
10. Walk

WHO DESIGN IT?
Due to there wasn't a lot of images about John Boultbee Brooks,
and I should be more creative really,
so I decided to do what the desinger was thinking while he was designing the bike seat..
obvs.. differnt types of bottoms.
1. Over weight man's bum
 2. Toddler's bum

3. Young girl's bum

4. Skinny boy's bum

5. Middle age house wife's bum

6. skinny woman's bum

7. old man's bum

8. Little girl's bum

9. old lady's bum

10. Bear's bum

5. and they also make leather goods.

 7. One Day his horse died

8. So he has to borrow someone's bike to commute to work
9. He found the seat rather uncomfortable
10. He made his 1st Brooks saddle

WHERE WAS/ IS USED?

2. Circus

3. Sport's competitions

4. Museum

5. Date

6. Shops

7. Lamp post (Ghostbike)
